Anywhere in the country that you have hired so long as the vehicle is driven on sealed bitumen roads. Parking for the night

These parks also have great leisure offerings including swimming pools, games rooms and other facilities.

There is usually no need to book ahead, but to avoid disappointment be sure to book in school holidays and the summer months.

National Parks
Most national parks allow camping in specifically designated areas and often offer showers, toilets, barbecues and picnic areas. These are fantastic places to stay for a night or two but we would not recommend much longer as they do not offer powered sites.

Roadside Camping
It is prohibited to camp on the side of the road near or in towns and cities. Generally outside of these areas you may park your vehicle for the night. Please respect areas with ‘No Camping’ signs.

How long does the battery system last?

In Australia and New Zealand:
Your vehicle will be fully charged when you start your journey and should last 12 - 20 hours depending on use. Star RV’s ancillary battery system powers internal appliances such as the fridge, lights and water pump.

Batteries can be recharged by connecting to mains power at a powered campsite or by driving. Simply idling the engine will not recharge the battery.

When you are connected to a powered site all the appliances and powered equipment will run of this power source rather than the battery. The television, microwave, rear air-conditioning and power points will only run on mains power.

The 12 Volt main switch must be in the 'on' position for it to work. All vehicles can be connected to 240 Volt mains power via the supplied 15 Amp extension lead with large earth pin. All approved caravan park circuits are 15 Amp.

How long does the battery system last?

The appliance battery system in America will last approximately 12 hours when fully charged. When you plug into electricity in an RV park the appliances will automatically run off 110V electricity rather than the batteries. Star RV vehicles are rated at 30amps, however you can still connect to power at RV parks rated at 20amps, so long as you do not run all your appliances and outlets at the same time.

Have Star RV vehicles been ‘winterized’?

While heating is available in Star RV vehicles they are not all ‘winterized’, that is the water system, propane gas and refrigerator have not been prepared for below freezing temperatures. We winterize all vehicles being collected from Denver (during November to February) due to extreme temperatures. If you are moving into a warmer climate, your vehicle can be dewinterized by an RV facility. The vehicles are comfortable for temperatures above freezing. You can keep the vehicle warm by keeping the heating on and staying in campgrounds where you can plug into power. To use the heater the vehicle must be plugged into power.
