Clint: Life on the road

My partner and I chose to take a motorhome around the South Island for 10 days so we could enjoy the freedom to explore at our own pace. We wanted to explore stunning landscapes, eat some amazing food, and savour beautiful wine. We looked forward to unwinding in the serenity of nature and spending quality time together.

I have already been to many places in Aotearoa, New Zealand, but I haven’t explored the top of the South Island before. It was somewhere I had wanted to visit for a long time. Aotearoa is a beautiful country, and it continues to blow me away.

We spent time in the Tasman District, the West Coast, Canterbury, and Mackenzie Country. I also hadn't been to the Ashburton Lakes and Hakatere so we also added those to the list.

My favourite experience would have to be our two nights at Wharariki Beach. We experienced dramatic weather, including insane winds, lightning, and thunder. There was torrential rain, which turned into an amazing light at sunset. We loved watching the wild coast and surf. It was amazing.

I had the best time away with my partner, exploring new places, enjoying life on the road and experiencing that freedom that only comes when adventuring to new places. Being immersed in nature offers a profound sense of freedom and the means to explore without boundaries. It leaves me inspired, and truly present.
