#starstoryCarina & Hannes: Pursue Your Dreams
A photographer couple return to New Zealand, a place that had captured their hearts five years ago.
Our road trip across New Zealand in a Star RV motorhome was a dream come true, a return to a place that had captured our hearts five years ago. This time, though, we wanted to experience the full magic of the land of the long white cloud – by living amidst its breathtaking beauty.
For us New Zealand was like coming home again because we felt very welcome last time.
As photographers, we wanted to capture the beauty of nature and share it with the world. A camper was the perfect choice, allowing us to stay close to nature and fulfill our dream of filming the wonders of the world. We wanted to experience the true essence of freedom, living in harmony with the environment while capturing every precious moment. The Star RV motorhome provided us the freedom and independence we craved, enabling early morning adventures and late-night stargazing in the most picturesque settings.
Five years ago, New Zealand had been a stop on our first world tour, and we felt already the sense of freedom. But before, there was one difference. We only had a rental car and booked accommodations. We weren't able to come close to the beauty of nature, especially in the early mornings and late evenings.
This time, travelling in a motorhome, we ventured deeper into the country. Our journey took us across both the South and North Islands, each destination leaving its mark. From the serene beauty of Lake Pukaki to the captivating sunsets over Mount Taranaki.
Our trip began with an unforgettable moment. The southern lights danced across the night sky upon our arrival. It was magical and made us speechless. Another cherished memory was a sunset at Pukaki Reflective Tarn on Mount Taranaki. It was quiet and peaceful. A moment we will never forget.
Our favourite stops included Lake Hawea, Kaikoura, and Huka Falls, each offering unique vistas and moments that inspired our art. Sharing these experiences with fellow travellers in campers created a sense of community, reminding us that we were part of a larger adventure-loving family.
To us, being close to nature is more than just a preference – it’s a way of life. We felt a deep sense of freedom and gratitude, knowing we were exploring the world in harmony with the environment. Our journey wasn’t just about capturing beautiful photographs; it was about living fully and finding inspiration in every sunrise, every breeze, and every star-studded sky.
Reflecting on our trip, we describe it as a tapestry of emotions: freedom, adventure, happiness, and independence. It reminded us of the importance of cherishing the earth and left us feeling small yet deeply connected to the vastness of our planet.
